Here’s how to activate or reactivate your Starlink service to continue getting internet access:

Activating a New or Unactivated Dish
  1. Power on your Starlink dish in an open area with a clear view of the sky.
    • Upon first use, you get up to 60 minutes of internet access even without prior activation—sufficient to complete setup.
  2. Connect your smartphone to the Starlink Wi‑Fi network.
  3. Download and open the Starlink app (iOS/Android). Tap Start setup and select your kit.
  4. When prompted, click Activate Starlink (or go to starlink.com/activate).
  5. Enter your Starlink identifier, which you can find in one of the following ways:
    • Kit serial number (on the box or bottom of the dish)
    • Dish serial number (on hardware)
    • Terminal ID via the advanced settings in the app (exclude any leading "ut").
  6. Choose New Account (if you’re a new customer) or Existing Account to add the device to your current account.
    • If creating a new account, you’ll enter your address, choose a service plan, provide billing info, and place your order .
  7. Once completed, your service is activated and billing will begin.

Reactivating (Resuming) Service
If you've paused or canceled service:
  • Log in to your Starlink account at starlink.com, go to Your Starlinks → Manage, and click Activate Service or Reactivate. In most cases, your service resumes within ~30 minutes.
  • If the Reactivate option is unavailable, you can open a support ticket:
    • Go to Support in your account, choose any topic, click the thumbs‑down button, then request reactivation. Users report service being restored within hours.
  • Note: reactivation depends on availability in your area. If capacity is full, you may be offered a mobile/Roam or portable plan.

Troubleshooting & Tips
  • If your hardware was purchased from an authorized reseller, activation should still go through Starlink’s system. If bought secondhand, ensure the previous owner has transferred ownership.
  • New kits provide a 60-minute grace window to set up even without internet elsewhere.
  • For roam or seasonal use, you can reactivate service at each location via the portal—no ticket required—usually in about 30 minutes.
  • Always confirm your service address and local availability before reactivation, especially after pausing
